21-year-old man dies after attack in Maidstone

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 21-year-old was found dead in Maidstone on Sunday morning.

Police were called to Sutton Road at 2.13am following a report that a man had been stabbed.

The 21-year-old, from the Maidstone area, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

He has not been named by police and is understood to have been known to his attacker.

A post mortem examination is expected to be held later.

A murder investigation has been launched by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

A second man and three women have also been arrested in connection with the incident, which is believed to have taken place in Cornwall Close, Maidstone.

All five are currently in police custody and will be questioned today.
