THE second Maidstone Schools Careers Fair is being held this year at the leisure centre in Mote Park on Thursday, February 6.

The two-day event will be opened by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Pat Marshall and is expected to draw about 3,000 students.

Maidstone and Mid Kent Chamber of Commerce is organising the fair with support from the Kent Messenger Group.

Sean Randell, the chamber's chief executive, said: "This is a great opportunity for pupils to work out what sort of profession they might be interested in applying for.

"It will enable them to find out the minimum criteria for different professions."

Advisers from about 40 employers, including the NHS, the Army, Kent Police and local government will help students make an informed choice about their future career paths.

* Any businesses interested in taking part in the careers fair can call Mr Randell on 01622 695544 or e-mail info@thechamber.inmaidstone.com
