A 72-year-old man was killed in a collision with an HGV after he walked onto the M20 motorway near Leybourne.

Three other vehicles, including a Transit van, were involved in the crash on the coastbound carriageway, near a footbridge just after junction 4, at about 6pm on Saturday, February 5.
Rumours that a man had jumped from the bridge were ruled out by police, who said the pedestrian had parked his car off the carriageway prior to the incident.
The coastbound carriageway was closed while emergency services attended, and reopened at 1am the following morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation has been opened and a post mortem is expected to be conducted later this week.
