A homeless man who burgled the same Maidstone home three times in eight weeks is behind bars.
Between Saturday, September 21, and Thursday, November 28, 25-year-old Thomas Morgan stole electrical items, jewellery and even bed clothes from the victim’s home in Bell Road, Maidstone.
On one occasion a screwdriver was left at the scene, as well as adhesive tape on the window.
Morgan was found to be living in a shed in Hollingworth Road, where some of the stolen property was recovered, along with paperwork in his name.
Crime scene investigators also recovered tape and screwdrivers identical to those that had been left at the scene.
He was arrested and initially denied any involvement but later pleaded guilty.
He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison on Friday at Maidstone Crown Court.
Investigating officer PC Michelle Marshall said: “To be burgled once is bad enough, but on three occasions – in such a short space of time – must have been very difficult for the victim.
“We believe some of the stolen property was sold on, while other items were recovered from the shed. We had a lot of success last year in removing burglars from the streets and putting them in prison and we are looking to continue this success throughout 2014.”
