South East Coast Ambulance Service was unable to confirm the job titles of the injured staff, but said they were taken to The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

A spokesman said the ambulance was not attending an emergency call and there were no patients on board.

The crash sparked minor delays, but police said the road was cleared by mid-morning.
