Police investigating a double fatal crash are appealing for the driver of an unknown car to come forward.

The double tragedy happened on New Year's Eve when a blue Mercedes travelling towards Maidstone smashed into a tree on Linton Hill in Marden, at the junction with Stilebridge Lane.

Officers are now asking the occupants of a car that was travelling on the same road but in the other direction between 10.35pm and 10.40pm to come forward.

Flowers left at the scene

Police say there is nothing to suggest the car has been involved in any wrongdoing, but officers would like to speak with its occupants as it is believed they may have important information.

The crash happened at 10.40pm.
