Maidstone: Appeal after Knightrider Street collision involving pedestrian

Police have appealed for information after a serious collision in Maidstone last night.

Officers were called to College Road around 8.20pm after a silver Toyota Corolla hit a pedestrian.

The incident happened at the junction with Knightrider Street.

Police closed Knightrider Street

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

He remains there in a stable condition.

A man in his 30s from Rochester who reported to a police station following the incident has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop after a collision.

He remains in police custody.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a large white van which was travelling behind the Toyota.
