Man arrested for public order offence after teenage girls asked for explicit pictures in Whatman Park, Maidstone

A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

It comes after reports two teenage girls were asked by a man in Whatman Park, Maidstone, to take explicit pictures of him.

The 16-year-olds were approached at around 3pm last Thursday (July 25) where a man is said to have made the request.

It is reported two further girls were targeted with a similar request around two hours later in St Peter’s Street.

Today (August 2), police confirmed they have arrested a local man in his 50s on suspicion of a public order offence.
