Two teenage girls reported missing have been “safely located”.

Karmel Whiting, 14, and Melanie Barrett, 15, were last seen at around 11.15am in the Sutton Road area, near Maidstone yesterday (July 30).

Just before 6pm, a police spokesman confirmed the girls had been found.

They added: “Officers would like to thank all those who assisted their enquiries and shared the appeal.”
