A teenage boy has been arrested after armed police descended on a street in Maidstone.
Firearms officers ushered people off the streets and into their homes on Harvesters Way, Grove Green.
Residents in the normally quiet residential street were told to stay inside as officers moved towards the corner with Barleyfields.
A neighbour said: I was in the kitchen doing the dishes and then a first police car came in and parked in my driveway. I did not worry at first, but they started pulling very big pistols out - they were dressed in bulletproof vests, helmets, and shields.
"I was really scared because it was right behind my window at my neighbours' house. Then I saw three more cars, and the same as the first two policemen, they took out their guns and they pointed their weapons on the house, for about 20 minutes they stayed like that.
"It was very quiet. At the far end, there was another police car and some policemen were busy evacuating people and cars.
"I had the impression of being in a crime TV series, it was very impressive, especially here, it's very calm."
Another resident who did not want to be named said: "It's very unusual for something like that to happen round here. We were very surprised to see the armed police."
A spokesperson for police confirmed that firearms officers attended an address in Harvesters Way, Weavering, at 12.30pm on October 11 as part of an investigation into threatening behaviour.
A teenage boy remains in custody, but police were unable to confirm the age of the boy or the nature of the threatening behaviour.
