Man arrested after crash in Northumberland Road, Maidstone

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash which left a woman injured.

The front of the cars were badly damaged and debris was strewn across the road, which was closed until it was cleared.

A police spokesman said: "A woman reported injuries and was tended to by the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"An 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to stop when required by a police officer, theft, and possession of cannabis.

"He was later released pending further investigation."

Police officers who were at the scene said they would like to thank the public for their assistance.
