Bill Treeby, convicted of murdering his brother Jack, has been found hanged in his cell.
On Friday, Bill, 50, from Paddock Wood, was found guilty of killing his brother Jack, 43, by running him over with a Range Rover.
His two sons, Billy, 30, and George, 23, were also convicted of murder.
Bill was being held at HMP Elmley, on the Isle of Sheppey, awaiting a sentencing hearing on Wednesday.
He was found dead in his cell on Sunday.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "At 3.07pm on Sunday 12 December, Bill Treeby was found hanging in his cell at HMP Elmley. Attempts were made to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at 3.46pm.
"As with all deaths in custody, there will be an investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman."
Jack's murder was the climax of a row which ripped the Treeby family apart and ended with a public implosion last December 27, when Bill and his wife Charity, and their two sons, went on a rampage in Quarry Road, Maidstone.
Bill's other brother, Gary, was shot in the leg and beaten with an iron bar, while Jack died from injuries sustained when he was run over by the car.
Jack's son, Jack Jnr, was also injured in the incident.
Bill, Billy and George were also convicted of the attempted murder of Gary. Charity was found guilty of GBH with intent but cleared of murder and attempted murder charges.
After the jury returned the guilty verdicts on Friday, police said that the three men faced a long jail term.
