Two flood warnings have been issued with high river levels expected tomorrow.
The Environment Agency has confirmed the alerts may affect parts of Maidstone and Ashford.
One alert covers the Lower River Medway, which includes Yalding, Allington, Maidstone, Tovil, East Farleigh, Wateringbury and Teston.
The other is in place for the Upper River Stour, affecting areas on the Great Stour including Ashford, Charing Heath communities on the East Stour and the Whitewater and Ruckinge Dykes and the Aylesford Stream.
For the River Medway, heavy rainfall tomorrow could see flooding of nearby land from 8am tomorrow and footpaths in Maidstone could be worst hit.
Homes are not predicted to be at risk of internal flooding.
In Ashford the river level is expected to peak at 6am and remain high during Boxing Day.
Environment Agency staff have checked defences and structures along the river and the flood storage reservoir on the East Stour near Aldington is retaining some flood water to assist river drainage through Mersham and Ashford.
An update from the Environment Agency is due on Boxing Day around 9am.
