Car fire on M2 Junction 3 near Blue Bell Hill

Footage shows a car engulfed in flames on the M2 near Blue Bell Hill.

One lane of the motorway was closed while fire crews tackled the blaze on the coastbound carriageway near Junction 3 at about 6.20pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) had left by 7pm and the lane closure was removed.

A spokesperson for KFRS says: "The owner had safely evacuated the car and moved to a safe place.

"Two fire engines were sent to incident and crews extinguished the blaze.

"The car suffered 50% damage and there were no reported injuries."

It's not yet known what caused the fire.
