A new Caribbean restaurant will spend Christmas Eve cooking meals for the homeless.
Jerk Shack at the Market Buildings, Maidstone, has only been open since October this year.
But the family-run outlet has already committed to doing its bit for vulnerable members of the community it serves.
Those who are homeless can come along to the eatery between midday and 6pm on Christmas Eve for a free meal.
Nozy Moyo, assistant manager at Jerk Shack said: "Christmas is a time for giving so why not give to those who don't have anything.
"We're looking for volunteers - anyone and everyone's welcome and we're also looking for any donations that they may have.
Jerk Shack will cook food from their own menu on Christmas Eve - but they also hope to hand out tinned food and clothes to those in need, in a similar way to how food banks operate.
"It can be stuff like tinned food - it doesn't have to be fresh, as the shelf life won't be as long.
"Even if you've got spare clothes to give - people are welcome to literally just drop stuff off."
The restaurant announced the plans last month on its Facebook page and the original post has now been shared more than 4,000 times.
Miss Moyo added: "The aim is to make sure those who are homeless have enjoyed this Christmas. If you have it, give it."
