A young man has been treated for a broken jaw after being attacked in a Maidstone nightclub.

The 22-year-old victim was unable to speak for several days after being injured in Wonderland nightclub (pictured right) in Barker Road.

He needed treatment at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury.

Having viewed CCTV footage, officers believe the attack was unprovoked and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

DC Debbie Prescott, from Kent Police, said: "At this stage we are treating the assault as completely unprovoked. The club was very busy when the assault occurred, so I'm hopeful that someone will be able to come forward and help us identify the suspects."

Police have just released details of the attack, in the early hours of Sunday, March 10.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone DC Prescott on 101 - quoting crime reference YY/4616/13 - or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
