Body found in search for Jamin Longhurst, who was last seen in Tonbridge Road, Barming

Police searching for a missing man have found a body.

The discovery was made this afternoon at around 2pm in Barming Woods near Maidstone.

The North Pole Road is currently closed between Barming allotments to the junction of Wateringbury Road.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of the 49-year-old man from Maidstone, who had been reported missing yesterday (October 20), have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Jamin Longhurst, had been missing since around 10.30am yesterday (October 20).

In a post on social media, his wife Jo Longhurst said: “We are absolutely devastated that the body of my gorgeous husband and wonderful father of two amazing boys was found in Barming Woods this afternoon.

“We are completely heartbroken and our world has been shattered.
