Cyclist injured from accident in Sittingbourne Road that forced Kent Police to close it in both directions

A pedal cyclist has been injured in an accident on Sittingbourne Road that is causing major delays for motorists in the area.

Police have close the road in both directions from the Holland Road junction to the roundabout linking Bearsted Road to Penenden Heath Road.

A witness said they saw as many as eight police cars at the scene and believes a flatbed truck and two cars could also be involved.

Police have not confirmed this report and are currently interviewing witnesses at the scene to find out what happened.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service are also at the scene.
