Commuters were facing delays this morning after a number of trains were cancelled.

A fault with the signalling system, at Maidstone East station, stopped any trains from passing through.

Services on the line between Ashford International and Otford were suspended

Trains have been cancelled this morning.

The issue was with a piece of equipment that allows trains to move from one line to another.

An alternative route, between Ashford International and Otford, had been put in place which called in at Paddock Wood.

Southeastern allowed commuters to use their ticket on the London Underground at no extra cost to help with their journey.

Network Rail response teams fixed the problem and all lines have reopened.

Services returned to normal at around 11.30am.
