A digger enthusiast has been carried to his final resting place in the bucket of a JCB.

Tony Law died earlier this month aged 64 after a battle with cancer.

The father-of-nine, of Chart Hill Road, Chart Sutton, worked in plant from the age of 15.

Mourners flocked to Maidstone's Vinters Park Crematorium this morning to celebrate Mr Law's life.

The service was soundtracked by the American singer Jim Reeves and the original version of the JCB song, while a wake will be held at the White Horse, Bearsted.

The vehicle was loaned by Digger Land and the service was arranged by Angels, in Heath Road, Coxheath.

His son Roger said it was Mr Law's dying wish to be taken to his own funeral in a digger, adding: "He said he wanted the world to know about his passion.

"He grafted his whole life and would help absolutely anyone.

"His motto was 'if it can't be fixed it isn't broken'."

Mr Law leaves behind two children, seven step children and a number of grand children and great grand children. His late wife Barb died of cancer 10 years ago.
