There are delays and cancellations on rail services between Sevenoaks and Maidstone today.

A broken down train at Otford blocked the line from Swanley towards Sevenoaks and Maidstone, causing delays.

Rail replacement buses ran between Swanley and Maidstone East until 4pm, when a normal service resumed.

There were also issues with signalling problems at Sevenoaks tunnel, meaning services towards Tonbridge were either cancelled or delayed.

Initially the train operator said it would be back to normal by midday, but later revised this and said they expected the disruption to last all day.

Network Rail says it is working to rectify the issue, but in the meantime rail replacement buses have been arranged between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge for Southeastern ticketholders.
