Do you know hospital staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile to help you and your loved ones?

Last year the Kent Messenger's Hospital Hero award, as part of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust's Staff Star awards scheme, went to a consultant and team caring for cancer patients.

Dr Russell Burcombe, consultant clinical oncologist and his team at the Kent Oncology Centre had been nominated by readers who had been cared for by them.

If you know of someone who you think deserves the KM's award, contact us and let us know why you think they deserve it.

Nominations are open for all the trust's awards, which are given annually and honour workers in a number of fields, and who work at either Maidstone Hospital and the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Patients can put individuals or teams forward for the honours, in categories including respect; innovation; excellence; putting patients first and high standards of performance.

There are also awards for the volunteer of the year; team of the year and employee of the year.
