Man, 74, arrested on suspicion of drink driving after car ploughs into parked vehicles in School Lane, Maidstone

A pensioner has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car ploughed into a number of park vehicles.

Officers were called to School Lane in Maidstone, near the entrance for Mote Park, at around 7pm on Saturday.

The road was partially shut by two police cars while they dealt with the incident.

Police arrived at the scene after reports a car had crashed into parked vehicles.

No injuries were reported, but an elderly man was arrested.

A police spokesman said: "A 74-year-old man from Maidstone was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken into custody.

"He is currently bailed until May 25."
