Lorry driver caught watching DVD near junction 8 for Leeds Castle

A lorry driver has been fined £700 after being caught watching a DVD at the wheel.

An officer on a motorbike, stopped the man this morning on the M20, heading towards London near junction 8 for Leeds Castle.

A tweet by the roads policing unit said it was a common occurrence.

The post said: "This HGV1 driver was seen by me as I entered the M20 on my fully marked police bike watching this DVD player and driving.

"This is so common unfortunately.

"Before anyone asks no it wasn't an action romance!"

A spokesman for Kent Police said the motorist was also over his allowed hours.
