Driver injured in crash

A driver had to be cut from his car after it ploughed through a garden fence and hit a tree early this morning.
The accident happened at about 12.45am in High Street, Hawkhurst.
Fire crews from Cranbrook and Tenterden were called to the scene and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the man from the car, a Mazda 626.
He suffered non-life threatening chest and leg injuries in the crash and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
No other vehicles were involved.
