A motorway is to shut overnight between two junctions for the rest of the week.
National Highways has confirmed the M20 will close between Junction 7 (Maidstone South) and Junction 8 (Bearsted).
The 5.1-mile coastbound carriageway is to shut from 8pm to 6am each night this week.
Work began last night and will finish on Saturday morning.
A spokesman for National Highways said: “We’re resurfacing the M20 between Junctions 7 and 8.
“This will maintain safety and improve the journey for road users, while preventing the need for unplanned closures.
“During the closures, diversions will be in place via the A249 and A20.
“This work is subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress.”
The London-bound section of the motorway, between Junctions 8 and 7, will also close next week from Monday (January 22) to Wednesday (January 24), also from 8pm until 6am.
It comes at the same time the M2 is also partially shut to drivers.
The London-bound carriageway, between Junction 7 (Canterbury) and Junction 5 (Maidstone), will have narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit, with two lanes remaining open.
Work started last Wednesday (January 10) and will run until Saturday morning (January 19) between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
