Long delays on clockwise M25 between Junctions 4 and 5

Delays have cleared after an accident on the M25.

Traffic was held for 45 minutes between junctions 4 and 5 following the crash involving a lorry and two cars at around 5.30am.

One lane reopened at 6.30am and the other lanes reopened about an hour later, but long delays remained until around 10am.

The accident occurred on the clockwise carriageway at junction 5 right by the Sevenoaks slip road.

Police, paramedics, the air ambulance, firefighters, and highways officers were called to the scene.

Fire crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of a car to help free a man trapped inside.

He was passed to the care of ambulance crews.
