Vidler and Collins, who are from the village, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The pair admitted the offence of theft and were given a conditional discharge and told to pay £201 by the courts.

Vidler and Collins were charged as part of a crackdown in Maidstone from Kent Police on thefts, shoplifting, assaults and hate crimes.

Almost 70 people received charges after a number of incidents in the town.

They are connected to cases investigated by the town’s victim based crime team (VBCT) which focuses on deterring prolific offenders and reducing the impact crime has on the community and businesses.
