It may not have been Beijing, but the children and parents of the Woodlands Under-5s Pre-School brought the spirit of the Olympics to Vinters Park, Maidstone.

Their mini-Olympics event included Chinese dragons and torches, and a host of competitive races, before everyone tucked into a selection of foods from around the world.

More than 50 children took part, with parents joining in the games too.

The pre-school meets at Vinters Park Community Centre from 9am to noon, from Monday to Friday, during term-time, and also from 12.45 to 3.45pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Anyone interested in placing their child there, should call 01622 671131.
