Police and ambulances at flats in Fennel Close, Barming, after concern for person's welfare

Emergency services including police armed with a battering ram have been spotted near flats.

Two police cars and two ambulances were pictured in a car park in Fennel Close in Barming, near Maidstone, at around 1.20pm after receiving reports of concern for someone's welfare.

Paramedics were joined by two officers at the scene who were seen putting on protective gear including a helmet and holding an ramming device known as an enforcer.

Tesco worker Anthony Spencer who lives nearby said: "I could see it all happening from my window and it looked like it was about to kick off.

"There were two officers and about five paramedics and the police were putting on some sort of armour and opened a door with a crowbar in the flats car park.

"They've brought a man out and put him in the back of the ambulance and he doesn't look too good."

A police spokesman said: "At around 1.20pm Kent Police was called regarding concerns for the welfare of a person at an address near Tonbridge Road, Maidstone.

"Officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service."

There has been no reported injuries.
