Two men were arrested following a disturbance in Maidstone town centre during the early hours of this morning.

Several squad cars, a police van and an ambulance were called to the lower end of the High Street at around 3am.

SMB Maidstone Taxis tweeted a photo of the commotion, which had blocked the road.

It is understood the men were being abusive to officers and door staff.

One is also accused of picking a fight with a member of the public.

Two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of public order offences and were still in police custody this morning.
