ANN WINTER: keen supporter of Maidstone United FC before the club collapsed

A FORMER Maidstone United FC stalwart and well-known businesswoman in the county town has died in the Midlands.

Ann Winter died at the Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield aged 74. She and her husband lived in different parts of Maidstone for many years and also ran several businesses in and around the town before moving away.

First they went to Charing and latterly to Sutton Coldfield to be near their son, Paul, and his partner Eme.

Mr Winter was one of the original directors of Maidstone United and his wife was granted life membership in recognition of her services to the club.

Mr Winter said: "Among other things, Ann used to do the flowers in the boardroom. She was very well known by everyone at the club."
