A heartbroken family whose two dogs were stolen are trying to get them home by Christmas.

Dachshund's Lizzie and Ria were snatched from their kennels in Gallants Lane, East Farleigh, near Maidstone, by two men on Sunday, between 10pm and 10.30pm.

CCTV captured the men climbing a wall into the garden before stealing the four-year-old canines, just days after an attempted break in on Thursday night.

Charlotte Older said her two children had been left in tears after the Dachshunds, one dapple and one black and tanned, were taken.

She said: "My two kids are heartbroken that their two dogs have been taken.

"I can't believe those ******** came back from last week and took them. I want my dogs back.

"My dogs will be terrified and my son and daughter are devastated.

"They are two very loved little dogs and I just want them home with us.

"They have never been away from us and won't cope with other people.

"We need to get them home for Christmas to us."

Charlotte explained the family have had the dogs for three years.

She says the thieves gave her other dog, a cocker spaniel, something which made her sick and stopped her from barking.

Charlotte is scared they may try to breed Lizzie who is far too small for it and that it "will likely kill her".

The family didn't know the pair were missing from their kennels until the following morning when Charlotte went to check on them.

She said: "They were padlocked, security lights on with cameras.

"I can’t believe how cheeky they can be to come back twice.

"But then it doesn’t surprise me what lengths people go to these days."

Investigating officer, PC Lauren Snoek, said: "We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously in the area at the time the dogs went missing.

"I would also urge anybody who is offered a miniature dachshund that looks similar to either of those in the photographs to contact the appeal line."
