A child-friendly winter funfair will be outside all weekend.

Kent’s biggest Father Christmas postbox will also open for youngsters to send their postcards to the North Pole and be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to the Odeon Luxe cinema.

The bright red giant postbox will be at the Love Food @ Lockmeadow food hall and will be open for letters to be posted from 4pm tomorrow.

Cllr Claudine Russell, Maidstone council’s cabinet member for communities, leisure and arts, said: “I am so looking forward to visiting Lockmeadow for this wonderful festive entertainment. “The council has run Santa’s Post Box for a couple of years now and it is so popular with all the children who send their letters directly to the North Pole.

“It is a fantastic idea and I am delighted that once again they will be able to use this free special Christmas postal service which is here for all children to enjoy.
