Buckland Hill, Maidstone closed after crash leaves one person injured

A crash between a fire engine and a car has injured one person and closed a road this afternoon.

Police shut Buckland Hill following a crash just after 1.30pm today.

The road was closed in both directions by Doddington Court, causing long queues onto the A20 London Road.

A spokeswoman from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "A fire engine was involved in an accident with one other vehicle at the junction of Somerville Road and Buckland Hill in Maidstone at around 2pm today. SECAmb paramedics attended to assess those involved"

The person's injuries are described as minor.

The road has since reopened.
