Firefighters were called to an arson at business premises in Maidstone this morning.

Crews were called to Saint Peter's Street at 5.45am where they found a brick built outhouse ablaze alongside two bins.

A spokesman for the fire service said:"Firefighters are reminding people that what may start out as just a small fire, or a bit of harmless fun, can quickly spread out of control. Deliberately started fires waste time and money.

"They can be dangerous and have the potential to keep crews away from real emergencies.

Officers are treating the fires as suspicious and are asking anyone with information that can help to call 01622 604100 quoting reference 17-0108. Alternatively contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
