A high powered pump has been set up outside an industrial estate by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters attended Parkwood Industrial Estate, near Bircholt Road, at 12.30am following talks with the Environment Agency.

The pump, which remains in place, should help drain away floodwater in a holding area on nearby Brishing Road.

In turn this will help reduce the risk of flooding to properties in the Quarries and Loose Valley area.

Southern Water and the Environment Agency will monitor progress throughout the day.
