The new lanes of a £5.7m road project have seen their first collision this morning.

Lane one of the A229 Fairmeadow northbound in Maidstone was blocked just after 9.30am.

A Trawoger wagon is thought to have struck the back of the car in front at traffic lights.

Police conducted inquiries at the scene, but there were no injuries.

The road was cleared just after 10.15am.
