FIVE people have been arrested after a suspicious car fire on Friday morning.

Police and firefighters were called to the Shepway Estate in Maidstone to deal with the fire, which was followed by a number of other vehicles being set alight throughout the morning.

In each case the vehicles were extensively damaged. Police are treating the incidents as isolated.

The five people have been arrested on suspicion of arson and are currently being questioned at Maidstone police station.
