Flood alert for Maidstone and Yalding

Flood warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency for tonight for the River Medway between Hampstead Lock, Yalding, and Allington Lock, and the tidal stretch of the Medway between Allington Lock and Cuxton.

There were also warnings for the River Beult from Pluckley and Bethersden to Hampstead Lock, where the Beult joins the Medway. Flood warnings issued on Monday for the Medway between Tonbridge and Hampstead Lock, and for the River Teise and Lesser Teise between Lamberhurst and Hampstead Lock were still in place on Tuesday afternoon.
