Police cracking down on thefts from cars have arrested four men.
The first two arrests came on Tuesday night, when officers stopped two Essex men on the M20.
According to Kent Police, the pair had been seen "in suspicious circumstances" in the Penenden Heath area.
A search of the vehicle revealed a number of tools and gloves.
Both men, aged 33 and 23, have been released under investigation.
Two more arrests came on Wednesday, after police stopped a car driving erratically on Andrew Broughton Way in Maidstone.
Tools, car parts, keys and number plates were all seized and two local men, aged 26 and 32 were arrested suspicion of theft from motor vehicles.
Both men remain in police custody while the investigation is ongoing.
Kent Police is offering the following advice to protect cars from thefts:
- Remove all valuable items overnight.
- Consider investing in CCTV and sensors which alert you when someone walks near your vehicle or enters the driveway.
- Have valuables `security marked’ so it makes them harder to sell on if they are stolen.
