Gardening enthusiasts had a blooming good time at the recent flower show hosted by the Maidstone Horticultural Society.

A colourful display of flowers, including dahlias, chrysanthemums, roses and more were on display at St Nicholas Church Hall, in Poplar Grove, Allington, with green-fingered visitors showcasing their best gardening efforts.

Mrs Nikki Gough stole the show with her prize-winning dahlias.

A range of impressive fruits and vegetables from around Maidstone were also exhibited, including a large onion which saw Mr Roger Simmons win Best in Show of the vegetable classes.

And it wasn't just gardening skills that were put to the test, 10-year-old Hollie-Grace Gough, won a first place certificate for her beautifully iced biscuits.
