A giraffe has become one of the latest attractions at one of the county’s most popular tourist hotspots.
But the long-necked animal is in fact an extravagant floral design as part of a special event at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone.
The Festival of Craft and Design includes an animal-themed sculpture trails across the 500-acre estate as well as a host of “creativity, food, art and florals”.
The event will take place throughout the month.
The jungle has been created by multi-RHS Gold-winning florist Louise Roots and is a tribute to the castle’s last private owner Lady Olive Baillie who saved it from ruin in the 1920s and had a love of exotic and colourful animals and birds.
The festival will run alongside the new Artisan & Food Fair, on September 8-10 on the castle’s Cedar Lawn.
Tickets can be booked in advance here.
