Twin brothers from Maidstone have planted themselves into the public consciousness with a TV gardening series.

Charlie and Adam Benton, 25, are blossoming into small screen stars, thanks to a weekly slot on ITV’s This Morning.

The duo saw the first episode of The Benton Brothers – Bro’s with Hoes, last Thursday. The second of five instalments was aired yesterday.

Charlie, of Sussex Road, Shepway, contacted ITV when he heard producers were looking for a gardener to front a new feature.

He sailed through auditions and sealed the deal, until the channel’s executives discovered he had an identical twin.

The landscaper said: “I asked if my brother could come along and watch and they were fine with it.

“When I said he was my twin, they asked if he would be up for filming too. So it went from there, really.

“It’s been really good to have our own show. We both love gardening, so we don’t really see it as work.”

Viewers will see the pair, who both attended Cornwallis Academy in Hubbards Lane, Linton, transform plots across the region.

“We show people how they can do a lot for not a lot,” Charlie said.

“We’ve done a cottage theme, an urban wall garden and various other designs.

“We’ve filmed in Sevenoaks, Mitcham and somewhere in north London.”

Former Park Way Primary pupil Charlie runs Benton Landscapes.

Adam, a soon-to-be married dad of two, of Walnut Tree Avenue, in Loose, is self-employed.

The family, which also includes another pair of twins, 20-year-olds Sophie and Ross, moved to the town when the older boys were five years old.

The next episode will be shown during This Morning, on Thursday, after 11.30am.
