A beloved pedigree cat could be the latest victim of the notorious cat killer.

The killer has a particular way of mutilating its victims.

Rosie, a two-year-old Bengal cat, was found dead with her tail removed at the base.

The cat lived with her owner and four children in Sutton Road, Maidstone.

A neighbour is said to have discovered the animal.

South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty (SNARL) is now liaising with the woman.

Police are aware of the incident.

A post on the SNARL Facebook page in tribute to Rosie quoted the owner, who wished to remain anonymous.

They said: "My dear Bengal cat, Rosie, was killed by some sick person last Wednesday evening (September 21).

"Rosie was the most adorable cat, who was clever, naughty, mischievous, but so loving with it and absolutely loved her life, and was still only two and a half years old.

"She bought a lot of love and laughter into my life and I now have a massive empty void."

Another owner lost their moggie to a similar fate in July, with the cat being found decapitated in a front garden.

Following publication of this article, another resident, from Tovil, got in touch to say that her cat, Tampa, had also been found killed in a similar way near Albert Reed Gardens a few weeks ago.
