Crews rushed to a field near Maidstone this afternoon after reports of two separate fires involving hay stacks.

Two fire engines attended each site in Woodside Green, Lenham, just after 2pm, as hose reel jets were used to dampen down.

The hay bales have been left to burn themselves out under controlled conditions.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the blazes are not yet known.
