A Maidstone woman who was having "the worst day ever" ended up whooping for joy after winning kmfm's Thousand Pound Friday competition.

Denise Humphrey was given the shock news by presenter Rob Wills, who called her after she was chosen at random.

She sounded downbeat as she answered the phone, and couldn't believe her luck as she realised she had won the cash prize, which was delivered straight to her house by the kmfm Street Team.

Denise said: "I have had the worst day ever, I came home to a huge bill."

Thousand Pound Friday returns on May 25 - just before the Bank Holiday weekend.
