The tight-knit community has been left shocked by the loss of their neighbour, who is described as a "good man" who "looked out for everyone".

It is thought he had been unwell for some time.

The area around the court and shops was cordoned off while investigations are completed.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a property at Northumberland Court in the Shepway area of Maidstone at 5.04pm on Saturday 11 November 2017 where the body of a man was discovered.

"The death is being treated as non-suspicious and unexplained and a post mortem examination will be carried out."
