A jury in a case involving an alleged rape at a Maidstone bar has been discharged while out considering a verdict.

Ersin Bicimli, 28, of Pearse Place, Lamberhurst, had denied raping a woman at Chicago Rock in the High Street in December last year.

Judge James O’Mahony discharged the jury for legal reasons. A further hearing on the matter will be held on Friday.
