It will be located on the forecourt of the Lighthouse Church – formerly known as St Faiths Church – on Station Road, Maidstone.

A launch event will unveil the national monument at 10.30am on Tuesday, September 6.

The sculpture was made by British Ironwork Centre and contains more than 100,000 seized blades.

It was specifically created to highlight the negative effects of aggressive behaviour, whilst solidifying the critical need for social change.

The angel is also a beautiful memorial designed to celebrate the lives that have been lost through violent and thoughtless actions.

In December 2018, the Knife Angel began its official National Youth Anti-Violence Educational Programme and Tour across the UK.

It visited Rochester Cathedral in September 2019, and was the first time the sculpture had been installed in the south east.

The team at OneMaidstone BID are the now the first Business Improvement District organisation to host the Knife Angel.

They are working with partners including the Hazlitt Institute for Performing Arts, Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), Maidstone Borough Council, Golding Homes, and Matthew Scott – Kent Police Crime Commissioner.
